Created in connection with the Pacific States National Biennial Print Exhibition in Hawaiʻi in 1994, the portfolio carries the idea of travel toward a literal and emotional boundary. A title sheet, six etchings, and colophon give the journey the rhythm of a small book.
The prints use the economy of etching to hold movement, horizon, and the uncertainty of arrival. The final sheet, Edge of Land, gives the journey its destination without turning it into a fixed home.
Across the six plates, minute changes in line and ground make distance palpable. The repeated format slows the eye, while the final edge holds arrival and uncertainty in the same spare image.
